Team Huddle: Music + Business = Music Business ≥ 2022 To-Do-List! Part 3
"This is your year!"
The new year's hype is infectious, but overall the excitement fades after a few weeks or months into the new year. Truth be told, those who prepare before the year is up make it past the New Year's hype. But for those that started after the new year, it's not too late. Take a look at the next tip:
Upgrade Your Online Presence
When is the last time you updated your bio, your photos, or your website?
New year new you, right? But, unfortunately, if you're not doing what you needed last year, there won't be many new things to see next year.
You should get a new photoshoot at the start of the new year. Plan 2-3 unique looks and schedule the shoot asap. Then, you can take the best photo and update your social media profile pictures, use them to give your website and EPK a refresh, and some new images to post to your Instagram feed.
Next, going into the next year, you should update your biography with all those things you did this year. Add your new releases and the shows you did, collaborations, acknowledgments, and accolades. Remember, your biography should tell your story and be as compelling as possible.
Oh, and don't forget to update your bio on your website. And also on all of your social media profile pages where it is allowed. Spotify, especially as listeners worldwide, may want to read up on you before becoming a follower. Same with your other DSP profiles and your social media. After you do that and get back the photos from the photoshoot, update your website with those photos. Update your current events, videos, and links.
